Contrina “Jala” Jenkins

Poet, Playwright, Screenwriter, Producer, Philanthropist, and the list continue….

In 2010 Contrina decide to invest in herself and her dreams. She added the title business woman to her list of growing accomplishments.  She formed her own independent production company. JalaWorld Productions which was created to entertain and educate today’s society through performance art. Using poetry and works of fiction as a tool to empower and enlighten others. She wrote and produced three stage plays (Karma, Love Is, and Forever Yours) that tackled topics like infidelity, self-love, AIDS, homosexuality, and sexual assault. In 2016 JalaWorld released an independent film, “Love Is…” Contrina put on the director’s hat with her sophomore film “Pipe Dreams” that was released in the summer of 2018. 2019 JalaWorld released the short film “Definition of Manhood” to her growing list of productions.

Contrina lives by the creed that no dream is impossible if you believe and have an unstoppable work ethic. The sky is the limited!

Rhonda “Bag Lady” Adams

 Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Rhonda was always drawn to creativity and has had the ability to make a concept come to life. Utilizing her passion for fashion and interior design, she has worked as Creative Director on various photo and Cinematography projects. Although relatively new to the stage and film side of production, Rhonda is no stranger to executing the behind-the-scenes details as the owner of The Event DOC, an event planning firm which specializes in wedding and event coordination.

   Rhonda is proud to be working with Jalaworld Productions again after having done set design, wardrobe design, location scouting, and work as a Production Assistant on the stage play, Forever Yours, and the short film Definition of Manhood.

Courtney Elaine

Graphic Designer, Photographer, Visionary, and Business Owner, My love for design and theatre established my role as Artistic Director for JWP. As a self-taught designer My role within JWP motivated me to pursue an education in design. I received my Associates Degree in Visual Communications from Lone Star Community College. Upon graduating I began doing business as Courtney Elaine Designs. My Graphic Design work can be seen in Young Houston Magazine is displayed on “Trinity’s Theorem Tees” and has aided other small business owners with marketing materials and branding their businesses. As a photographer, I am currently doing business as “The Soul’s Eye Photography”. My photography and mixed medium artwork has been on display in art exhibitions such as the “Art Official Intelligence” at Texas Southern University, the “Citywide Five-A Exhibit” with the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and “Music Saved My Life”. My personal hobbies consist of mentoring young ladies ages 9-18, crafting, writing and watching classic films.

Vincent Johnson “Black Bluez’

Poet. Writer. Actor. Visionary. No matter what the title associated with Black Bluez the word exceptional shall proceed. In 2006 his book “A Bluez Joint” served as the first piece of product offered by the poet. In 2007 he released a cd entitled “Adventures In Negro History”. He ranked 5 at the 2007 Blue Bonnet Slam and has competed nationally as a slam poet. He  served as the coach of Gawd Slam a nationally acclaim slam team. Served as acting coach and Assistant
Director of “Karma” Stage Play initiated his role as Director of “Love Is…” Stage Play & Forever Yours. He stepped into the film industry as Casting Director and Acting Coach with JWP film Pipe Dreams & Definition of Manhood.
